Born on October 22, 1952, in West Homestead, Pennsylvania, Jeff Goldblum exhibited two talents from an early age: a flair for piano playing and mimicry.

After participating in theater productions from fifth grade onwards, he attended summer drama classes at Carnegie Mellon University at 15. Upon graduating high school, Goldblum moved to New York City, where he enrolled in Sanford Meisner's acting classes (understating his age to do so).
